Lauren founded Midnight Publishing in 2009 to provide authors with a transparent, supportive editing and publishing experience after many faced challenges with previous editors or the publishing process. Since then, she has edited a wide range of books, including creative nonfiction, YA, fiction, and memoir, and offers manuscript critiques and publishing consultation.

From 2015–2025, she served as associate publisher and project manager at SparkPress and She Writes Press, the latter named 2019 Independent Publisher of the Year. She now works as Operations Manager at The Stable Book Group.

Her expertise includes editorial development, metadata, distribution, inventory management, and publishing strategy. A frequent speaker at major publishing conferences, she also serves on the PubWest Board of Directors and IBPA’s Advocacy Committee.
